			dear friends,
PLEASE JOIN US FOR SIX MAGICAL DAYS AND FIVE NIGHTS IN THE WOODS WHERE WE WILL RELAX, RETREAT AND RECOVER FROM THE NOISE OF MODERN LIFE.
Stowell Lake Farm is a lush, working farm, and an opportunity to drop into a deeply intuitive, soulful, creative space with other kindreds.
Mornings will be quiet, then we’ll move into our yoga practice, and eventually tumble into the Wild Writing. There will be warm things to drink and cozy nooks to hide away in. We’ll sit in circles and share stories, we’ll walk, and nap. Delicious meals will come from the land, and we promise warm beds, and star gazing at the end of the day.
All these practices – walking, yoga, writing and circling – are meant to loosen us up so we can access what is moving through us and what wants to be expressed. You don’t have to be a yogi or a writer to join us, just someone who is longing for a chance to take a deeper breath, and bring it down a few notches so you can feel like yourself again.
We have spots for 20 people and we’d love for you to join us.
Laurie & Jen

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RETREAT COST?
Getting to and from Stowel Lake. Once you get there, we’ve got you.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Cancellation: In the event you need to cancel your trip after your full balance is paid, you will not be refunded. You are welcome to sell or give your ticket to another person. We think of these tickets like concert tickets. In the event that we have a waiting list we will try to fill your spot with a person from that list.
Travel Insurance: It’s always a good idea to get travel insurance especially during these Covid times, and in case you need to cancel at the last minute. We have used Allianz travel in the past. https://www.allianz.com/en.html
In the case of acts of God, war, disaster, pandemic, border closure or unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to retain your fees and reschedule or make any necessary changes to the retreat. Because there is significant planning on our and the hotel’s part, rescheduling the trip is the best option.

words from past attendees…
Picture this: falling asleep to the sound of frogs, waking up excited for morning yoga (even though you’re not an early bird), eating fresh baked sourdough at breakfast and lunch and sometimes dinner because you just can’t get enough, using the sun and the gong as your clocks because your phone is left on the bedside table, chatting around a large wooden table on the second floor of the a-frame barn, listening, writing, and reading as the afternoon sunlight streams in through the windows and lights up each woman in the magic circle. This retreat is that. Please come, but save a place for me.

Everyone defines heaven differently (if you even believe in such a thing) but I think anyone would agree that living in community on an organic farm for a week with abundantly colourful platters and bowls spilling over with fresh grown and lovingly prepared foods to nourish the twice daily yoga practices and ample opportunities for writing and sharing (if you’d like) is heavenly. Spending a week at Stowel Lake with Laurie and Jenn and all those incredible women, is like starting with the ground you know or at least want to know and get to explore.

I can’t say enough great things about Stowel Lake Farm and Jen and Laurie as leaders! This was my 4th retreat with Laurie and my 2nd retreat with Jen. The farm setting was beautiful, the rooms were comfortable and the food was amazing! As an East Coast psychotherapist looking for a reset I felt fully restored & recharged after this delicious and soul-nourishing retreat!

Yoga and Wild Writing at Stowel Lake Farm on Salt Springs Island is nothing short of magical. A first for me – I signed up with a bit of yoga knowledge and no experience on the writing side – thinking I was heading to a strange place where I knew no one. Instead, I was welcomed to paradise, found both challenge and joy in daily yoga and writing, and came home with a whole new family of friends. Thank you.

Laurie Wagner’s wild writing practice is a permission slip to write fresh things I rarely feel capable of putting on the page. Her process creates an open field to step into our most tender and mundane stories; her guidance is warm and deeply liberating. Jen Breen’s yoga is so much more than yoga. It felt like stepping onto the mat for the very first time, even though I’ve practiced for twenty years. Together, they create a retreat experience that is both transformative and unforgettable—an extraordinary blend of honesty, embodiment, and awakening.”
– Kelly Anderson, physician and author
It’s hard to describe the soulful self exploration, relationship knitting, and calm farm beauty that makes up the Stowe Lake Retreat. I got just the dose of grounded happiness that I needed. I can’t thank Jen and Laurie enough for gifting their incredible leadership and talent to create this lovely time.
– Elizabeth Chambers
The yoga and wild writing retreat at Stowel Lake left a deep impression on me, not just for the intentionality in the setting where families work together to grow delicious food and create a nurturing and wood-warmed space for retreats, but because there is magic in the yoga, which Jen teaches with deeply informed wisdom, humor and grace, and because Laurie’s wild writing practice invites people out of their presented selves and into sacred territory where they are met with love, laughter, and forgiveness. The whole package is as life-confirming and restorative as it gets.
– Heidi Lasher
The retreat was nourishing from start to finish – the beautiful water-filled journey, the morning and afternoon movement, the gentle writings and teachings, the community of women opening to each other, the quiet farm, and the lovely people who spend their days with plants and each other – and the food! The long journey was worth it even the first night, and it got better from there.
